"I want to win titles with Benfica"

In Ivanovic's first statements as a Sport Lisboa e Benfica player, and exclusively to BTV, the 21-year-old Croatian international introduced himself to Benfica fans as a forward who “likes to score goals” and who will "help the team."

After his first visit to the Cathedral, the forward confessed to being dazzled by “an incredible stadium.” Thanking the many Glorioso fans who have already sent him messages, the Croatian international forward promised to repay them for their affection and support.

"I can't wait to get started and celebrate with them (the Benfica fans) at Estádio da Luz," he said.

Why did you choose Benfica for this new step in your career?

For me, first and foremost, Benfica is a very big club. And I think Benfica can help me a lot, and I can help them. So, for me, it was an easy choice.

How would you describe yourself as a player? What are your main characteristics?

I am a forward who likes to score goals and help the team.

Last season, you won championships with two clubs. What are your ambitions for this new season?

I want to win titles with Benfica, as in the past, and continue [winning].

You have already had the opportunity to visit the stadium. Can you share with us what you thought of it?

It's an incredible stadium, I can see that now. I've never been here before, but I can't wait to play the first game and celebrate with the fans.

Now that you have joined the team and started training with your teammates, would you like to leave a message for the fans?

Yes, of course. First, I am very happy to be here. I have already received many messages, and I want to thank everyone for them. I can't wait to get started and celebrate with them (the Benfica fans) at Estádio da Luz.
