António Silva reaches 150 games wearing the eagle on his chest

Young player Made In Benfica, António Silva reached 150 official games with the Sacred Mantle in the match against AFS (0-3) on Saturday, September 20, from Matchday 6 of the Liga Betclic.

"It means a lot. Since my first game in the first team, every game I play in has been very meaningful, because I spent many years in the youth teams, and my dream has always been to play for the first team. Reaching this milestone of 150 games at such a young age is something very special that I will always carry with me", he told BTV.

In this 150-chapter story, even though it's said that they are all important, there is always one that stands out more. The protagonist reveals which one is his special one.

"I think the debut is always the most memorable game because it's the first one, it's where it all begins. I think it was something very special at the time, at 18, very young, and I wasn't expecting it at the time, and I think so, that was the most special game", he said.

Before fulfilling that dream, at just 18 years of age, in a resounding victory at the Estádio do Bessa, António Silva was one of those boys who went through all the youth teams with the same goal. Addressing them, he revealed the secret to wearing the most desired jersey.

"It's a lot of work. Of course, luck always has to go hand in hand with hard work, but I think what they can control is their daily work. The coaches are good, the youth coaches are very competent, the people around the youth teams are very competent, and that's it, it's all based on hard work."

And, speaking of "high-quality, highly competent coaches", he also mentioned what he expects from José Mourinho.

"Everyone knows the quality that coach Mourinho brings to his teams. I think that, above all, it's his winning mentality, having been at many clubs and won everywhere, and I think that's what he can bring to our team", revealed the Portuguese international.
