The Brazilian striker scored the winner at Bonfim, a goal that was worth three points in a very difficult match.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Vitória de Setúbal locked horns on Saturday evening in a match from round 12 of the Liga NOS. Jonas scored the winner against the "sadinos" at 17'. Benfica left Bonfim with a precious 0-1 win and has 26 points on the league table.

At the end of the match, the Brazilian striker – named the man of the match – analyzed the main incidents, highlighting the importance of the early goal in a match he considered to be complicated.

“It was a difficult match, in a very difficult ground, against an opponent that fights a lot and makes things difficult for the opponent. We did a really good first half, we entered the match on the front foot, we scored the goal in the start of the match and that gave us tranquility to control the game. In the second half, we had a good control, a good pace, it was a narrow result, but we are happy we got the three points”, he claimed.

Finally, he was questioned about the importance of another win in the competition…

We look for consistency and the Championship need that. The more we win, closer we will be to our objective”, finished the Eagles' number 10.
