New face in training!

At the Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida, with all 28 players available for the competition, Bruno Lage's team held their final training session before flying to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they will face Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup at 9 pm continental time (4 pm local time) on Saturday, June 28. 

After a day off, Benfica's professional football team trained at Waters Sportsplex in Tampa on Thursday, June 26, with their sights set on the round of 16 of the Club World Cup. In this stage of the competition, the Eagles will face Chelsea at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte at 9:00 pm in mainland Portugal (4:00 pm local time) on Saturday, June 28.

It was with a thrilling  3-4 victory over Sporting in Game 5 of the Liga Placard play-off final that Benfica won back the competition on Sunday, June 29, at the João Rocha Pavilion - after also winning Game 1 (4-4; 3-4 ap) and Game 4 (7-5 aet) of the competition.
