André Gomes, the goalkeeper of the U-17 squad, Tomás Araújo and Henrique Araújo, both from the B team, were called up by coach Jorge Jesus para to participate in the training that the first team held this Wednesday morning, March 24, at Benfica Campus. Six players of the eagles are representing their respective national teams in this international break. After a day off, Benfica's professional football team trained at Waters Sportsplex in Tampa on Thursday, June 26, with their sights set on the round of 16 of the Club World Cup. In this stage of the competition, the Eagles will face Chelsea at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte at 9:00 pm in mainland Portugal (4:00 pm local time) on Saturday, June 28.

Under-17: celebrating the third consecutive championship title

Benfica's Under-17s beat FC Porto on Sunday, June 15, on matchday 18 of the National Championship and won the 3rd consecutive league title in the competition and the 22nd in the club's history. At Benfica Campus Field No. 1, Tomás Soares (45'+1') and José Neto (54') scored the goals that gave the Eagles a 2-1 victory. For the first time in the same season, the Under-19, Under-17, and Under-15 teams have won their respective championships: it is a historic achievement for the Club in youth football!
