Benfica's first team returned to work this Wednesday, December 7, after a 10-day break. The team coached by Roger Schmidt carried out two training sessions at Benfica Campus and is now preparing to return to the official competition that takes place on December 17, in Moreira de Cónegos, where it will face Moreirense, on matchday 3 of group C of the League Cup. Before, on December 11, the reds have a friendly match against Sevilla, at Estádio Algarve. In addition to those involved in the World Cup that takes place in Qatar, Rodrigo Pinho was also absent with a tonsillitis. See all here...
League Cup: record attendance for Estádio da Luz in the group stage
The Benfica-Penafiel match (2-0), from gameweek 2 of group C, welcomed 43 263 spectators, a record attendance in the group stage of the League Cup at Estádio da Luz and the second best record ever in the competition's matches at the Cathedral. The biggest crowd was in 2010/11, in the semifinal against Sporting, where there were more than 49 thousand spectators in the stands.
