Pizzi: “Dynamics, creativity and the will to win”

The Four-time champions beat Moreirense, by 0-2, and the scorer of the Eagles' first goal revealed some of the secrets for this triumph.

Benfica played this Sunday the Matchweek 17 of Liga NOS. Against Moreirense, at Estádio Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas, a well-deserved win, by 0-2, for the Four-time champions, with goals from golo Pizzi and Jonas.

At the end of the encounter, the scorer of the first goal of the eagles analyzed the main incidents, having highlighted the posture of a team with a huge will to win and that closes the first half of the season with 40 points.

“It was a well-deserved win. We entered the game on the front foot, with the will to win and the will to continue what we had done on Wednesday, and that's what happened. We made an excellent first half, a half in which we should have scored another goal. We could have gone to the dressing room with one more goal, but one must highlight the attitude of the team, the start of the match was very good, it was an excellent win and we are all to be congratulated”, said the midfielder in the Sports TV flash interview.

Looking at this Sunday afternoon's opponent…

“We always have tough opponents, Moreirense has excellent players, with a lot of quality, but the result is entirely fair, because the team always had the game controlled, always playing with the best judgment and with a lot of objectivity, above all, one must highlight the effort of all players”,  highlighted the Portuguese international.

On the personal level…

“Honestly, scoring goals is not my goal; my goal is to work, give my best in all the training sessions and in all matches so that Benfica can win. I was fortunate to have scored the first goal which broke the deadlock, of course that leaves quite happy, but the important is the team”, conclude Pizzi.

This match will be followed by another clash in Minho, this time with Benfica facing SC Braga in Matchweek 18 of the competition. This match is scheduled for 8:30 pm on Saturday, January 13th.
