At Luz since the January transfer market of the 2015/16 season, Grimaldo slowly won his space on the left side of  Benfica's defense.Against Rio Ave, last Saturday, he played the match 50 for the eaglesNow, in an interview with BTV, he remembers the best moments.

PLAY FOR BENFICA AND FULFILL A DREAM

“To play for a club like Benfica was a dream since I was little. I dreamt of becoming a footballer and to do it so at Benfica is a dream.”

2017/18, THE BEST SEASON WITH AN EAGLE ON HIS CHEST

“Yes, it is being the best season! In the first season, I arrived in the middle of the season and I was settling down; in the second season, I had an injury that forced me to be sidelined for some time. But it was a good season because I played a few matches and the most important thing was the team managed to win the titles in the end.”

FIRST MATCH FOR BENFICA

“I remember I was a substitute, in the League Cup. We won by a five-goal difference [Moreirense, 1-6]. I was looking forward to playing the first match because I had been at Benfica for some time and I wanted to wear the jersey and play a few minutes. I felt well and I was calm. The important thing was to make my debut and start a journey. I have already reached the 50 matches, hope to play many more.”

MATCH 15 AND THE FIRST GOAL

“It was against Feirense, through a free kick. The win was already secured but to score a goal with Benfica’s jersey at Estádio da Luz was a special moment. I have been training free kicks for many years and I was very happy to have scored my first goal for Benfica with a free kick.”

MATCH 25 BRINGS THE FOURTH LEAGUE TITLE IN A ROW AS PRIZE

“It was the most beautiful match I could have played, especially for the final it had, for the celebrations. It is amazing to be on the pitch and be able to enjoy that. I never imagine it.”

JERSEY ALLUDING TO THE 50 MATCHES

“Thank you very much! I will keep it at my place. It is incredible! Very pretty. It is amazing to have a jersey of the match 50.”
