Cervi was named the Man of The Match in the home match against Boavista, a match of Gameweek 23 of Liga NOS, which ended with a 4-0 win from Benfica.
The great performance and the assist – his eighth in the 2017/18 National Championship – for Jardel's goal (44’) have earned the Argentine the title of Man of the Match, in a poll carried out by the internet users through the Club's Official Facebook.
“I'm very pleased with the victory and with the match. It was a good performance and we must continue like this”, he said to BTV.
“We managed to score in the first half and to play here at our Stadium is much better. We always went after another goal and we did a great match. Now we must keep working, there are always things to improve”, he analyzed.
Franco Cervi is the player of Benfica with for assists in the competition. Apart from the eight assists, the number 22 also has three goals scored (two in the trip to Portimonense and one in the home match against Paços de Ferreira).
The good performances have drawn the attention of the Argentine National coach, Jorge Sampaoli, who in a World Cup year, has in Cervi a name to be reckoned. The call-up for the National team continues to be a dream for the midfielder.
“I know it is very difficult, there are great players, but I always work with the ambition of being noticed and be able to have that opportunity. But it will happen if it has to... I'm focused on working and do the best for the Club”, he finished.
