The Swiss Benfica forward commemorates this Thursday his 26th birthday.
22 February 2018, 11h12
Born on February 22nd, 1992, the Swiss forward has already traveled across Europe looking for fame and recognition. Nurtured at Luzern, in Switzerland, despite his Bosnian ascendency, he began his professional career at Grasshopper, one of the most prestigious clubs in his home country.
After having played in clubs such as Fiorentina, Neuchâtel Xamax, Lecce, Novara, Real Sociedad or Eintracht Frankfurt, he arrived at Benfica in the beginning of the 2017/18 season with a contract until 2022.
And on his debut for the Reds – on July 13th, 2017 –, Haris Seferovic could not have had a better start. The Swiss forward showed goal scoring ability and in the clash between Benfica and Neuchâtel Xamax, he scored with a well-placed strike (19’).
Seven months later, he has 9 more goals under his belt (7 of those in official competitions).
In the official start of the 2017/18 season, he was influential in the encounter that ended with the winning of the Super Cup. Against V. Guimarães (3-1), Pizzi served Seferovic, who went towards the goal and shot the ball under the body of Miguel Silva, scoring the second goal of the evening.
He also scored the first of the 59 goals of Benfica in the Liga NOS. On August 9th, in the home match against SC Braga in the opening round of the National Championship, the number 14 jersey scored in the 14th minute, after an amazing pass from Jonas.
