Salvio is one of the 23 players chosen by Jorge Sampaoli to fight for Argentina's objectives in the 2018 World Cup. Involved in the preparatory works, the winger already knows that in Russia he will wear the jersey number 18, precisely the number he uses at Benfica.

In the run-up for the planet's biggest football competition, that will take place from June 14 to July 15, Salvio and his teammates (among which the former benfiquista Di María) tackle on Tuesday evening the last friendly match on Argentinean soil. At 8:00 pm (local time), Argentina faces Haiti. 

"The ambition of an entire country, but only 23 will have the pride and the challenge of fulfilling it in Russia", can be read at the Argentina National Team Official Twitter Account, that will compete in Group D together with Iceland, Nigeria and Croatia.
