Nurtured at Benfica, Miguel Vítor, a centre-back, has a depth knowledge on the terrains that Rúben Dias steps on the pitch. The defender´s call-up to represent Portugal in the Russia World Cup is seen as a quality certificate.

"Rúben Dias made a great season and has been at a very good level. The proof of that was the call-up for the World Cup in a position in which everyone says one must have more seasoned players. His call-up proves the quality and the maturity he has been showing", said Miguel Vítor (on the photo) in an interview with the site "Maisfutebol".

"I am very happy to see a player nurtured at Benfica, moreover a centre-back, have this success", highlighted the defender that made his first match for the eagles in 2007/08, launched at the time by José Antonio Camacho, and who in the last season became two-time champions in Israel with Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Rúben Dias made his debut at Benfica's first team in 2017/18, under Rui Vitória, and quickly established himself in the center of the defense. The call-up to the Portugal Senior national team happened naturally. Miguel Vítor thinks that the youngster nurtured at Caixa Futebol Campus "will evolve more and more".

"Everyone says that a centre-back reaches his peak at the age of 27/28, he can still evolve a lot and become better than he already is.  With the matches, and playing next to great centre-backs like he is playing now, he will evolve more and more", foretasted the former player from the Reds.
