Svilar: “Biggest club in Portugal and one of the biggest in the world”

Mile Svilar, 18 years old, has signed, this Monday, a 5-year contract with SL Benfica. 

“It's an enormous club, with great history. It was the right decision", he initially said to BTV.

“I want to improve, to become a better goalkeeper and I would like to be ready as soon as possible in order to train with my teammates", he added.

Considered as the biggest "meant to be goalkeeper" in the Belgian football, he has been compared to Thibaut Courtois, the Chelsea's number 1... “I'm quite fast, a goalkeeper who comes out of the goal line. I have quite good reflexes.”, he described himself.

The goalkeeper arrives at a club which he has been following for a long time...

“I think I know every one of the current squad. On the previous years I followed Benfica in the Champions League and watched a few matches this season. I know a few things about the history of Benfica, just like the biggest legends of this club, Eusébio and Rui Costa. It's the biggest in Portugal and one the biggest in the world", he declared.
