Facing several competitions at the same time, the coach Rui Vitória admits to present, against Braga, this Wednesday (21h15), a different team.

“It will be natural to make some changes, but always in the perspective of the players whom can give a good response. I have many working well and waiting for an opportunity”, he assured this Tuesday, to BTV.

A debut is always a debut. Rui Vitória declared that the expectations are high. "We want to start winning. We expect a match against a difficult opponent, because we know that Braga is a strong one. On the other side we'll have a difficult team, with good players, well organized, but we think a lot about us, on what we have to defeat Braga"

Day 1 of a new journey

The 2025/26 preseason officially kicked off on Monday, July 14, with medical checks and physical tests between Hospital da Luz and Benfica Campus. In an atmosphere of reunions, renewed energy, and focus on what comes next, 28 players are present on this first day of work of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Preparation will intensify on Tuesday, July 15, with the first pre-season training session scheduled for the morning, followed by another session in the afternoon at Benfica Campus.
