Looking for the sixth consecutive victory

Benfica is preparing the home match against Vitória de Setúbal, in a game from Week 12 of the National Championship.

With the fifth league title in a row and winning the Portuguese Cup and the League Cup in their plans, the reds know that, wining the next match, they will better the best winning streak of the season - unbeaten in the last six encounters in the domestic competitions.

The current winning streak began in Algarve, where the Benfica beat Olhanense (0-1) in the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup. In the Liga NOS, they began by beating Desportivo das Aves (1-3), then Feirense(1-0) and V. Guimarães (1-3), extending the streak with the triumph over the "sadinos" in the Round of 32 of the Portuguese Cup (2-0).

This result was the fifth consecutive triumph of Rui Vitória's team, analyzing the performances in the domestic competitions and resulted in the best winning streak of the Four-time champions in the current season.

Only eight days after the match of the 4th round of the Portuguese Cup, the two teams will meet again at Estádio da Luz, this time in a game from week 12 of the Liga NOS. The main goal of Rui Vitória is to repeat the formula of the previous week and get the victory which will bring the three points. 

In case of triumph on Sunday, the reds extend the winning streak ahead of away game at Dragão, in what will by the first derby of the 2017/2018.

In 69 matches played at home against V. Setúbal, the reds won 59 times, drew eight and lost only two (222 goals scored and 56 conceded).

The match between Benfica-Vitória de Setúbal (Matchday 12 of Liga NOS) is scheduled for 8:15 pm, at Estádio da Luz.
