Benfica B got, this Sunday, the second triumph in a row in the derby against Sporting B (2-1), a match from Gameweek 16 of second division.

Pedro Amaral highlighted the quality of the opponent but assured it was a "well-deserved win”.

“It was a great win, this group is to be congratulated. We worked very hard during the week and we deserved the win. We dominated the first half, we managed to score two goals which gave us a lot of confidence, we managed to stabilize the match. We played against a good team, with a lot of player who came from the first team and we gave a great response”, said Pedro Amaral to BTV.

“A derby is always a derby and it is always special when you come out with the win. We want to thank the supporters, because they played with us and gave us extra strength”, he thanked.

Day 1 of a new journey

The 2025/26 preseason officially kicked off on Monday, July 14, with medical checks and physical tests between Hospital da Luz and Benfica Campus. In an atmosphere of reunions, renewed energy, and focus on what comes next, 28 players are present on this first day of work of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Preparation will intensify on Tuesday, July 15, with the first pre-season training session scheduled for the morning, followed by another session in the afternoon at Benfica Campus.
