Three distinctive personalities, three different ways of being… nevertheless, a resemblance in the speech, where the quality, the confidence, the hard work and to never give up are the expressions to keep!
During a conversation with the sports newspaper, the three goalkeepers were asked to describe themselves and to describe each one of their goal teammates. Paulo Lopes highlights the irreverence and the youth of Bruno Varela and Svilar… While they talk about the importance of 39-year-old goalkeeper experience.
Paulo Lopes has a long career, has experienced other realities, but has no doubt that this Benfica is one of a king in what concerns to its “organization and structure. Gives us everything we need”, declares and, when asked about the end of his path as a football player he is clear, as he keeps working every day to "be an option".
“To be National Champions was fantastic, as a player and a supporter! I feel satisfied for everything I've won, for the way I've performed and with people's affection”, he still revealed.
Svilar is only 18. The young player has been growing at the Club and about recent mistakes... "to forget and to work even more in order to learn”. “I've learned a lot since the arrival at Benfica, with all these amazing players. The adaptation period was very quick, much more than I expected", said the Belgian.
There are three goalkeepers, so... “hard work, only one can play so it's up to the coach”.
And how is this Benfica? “We are doing well! We are a very good group. The supporters can expect good football and victories”, concluded Svilar.
Bruno Varela underlines his teammates words! “The expectations are always the same! To work in order to play and when the opportunity comes is to show my value”, he said.
And what about the National team?
“I strongly want to go! But first there's a lot of work over here. It doesn't make sense to be any different!”, highlighted Bruno Varela.
About the four time champions… “The team is growing. We never give up and we'll fight until the end. We want to win the Championship. Benfica has already shown that has a chance to do that”, he said to A Bola.
