Bruno Lage: the best coach of the Liga NOS in January

Bruno Lage was elected by GoalPoint the coach of the month of January of the Liga NOS. In the first month at the helm of the Benfica squad and it was the coach who racked up the most points in the ranking (552).

On January 6, Bruno Lage made his debut at the helm of the first team with a triumph over Rio Ave (4-2), in matchday 16 of the Liga NOS, which was followed by new win over Santa Clara (0-2) and two other wins over Vitória de Guimarães, first for the Portuguese Cup (0-1) and afterwards for the Championship (0-1).

After Bruno Lage’s first defeat as the head coach of Benfica, in the League Cup semi-finals against FC Porto (1-3), Benfica had a good reaction and trounced Boavista by 5-1, in round 19 of the Liga NOS.
