The Winter marked has closed and when we are less than two weeks away from Benfica's trip to Galatasaray's home ground for the 1st leg of the Europa League round of 32.

In the most important competition in Turkey principal, Galatasaray is in the 2nd place of the league table with 35 points in 19 matches (ten wins, five draws and four losses). So far, the team has scored 37 goals and conceded 21. The team's top scorer in the Championship is the Nigerian forward, Henry Onyekuru, who has amassed nine accurate strikes.

In the Cup, the Turks are in the quarter-finals.

Making an analysis of the (restructured) Fatih Terim's (coach) squad, we noticed that there are very familiar faces.

Maicon and Fernando, former FC Porto players, represent this squad that has other well-known names in world football. The Uruguayan goalkeeper Muslera, the midfielder Younès Belhanda (faced Portugal in the Russia World Cup playing for Morocco) and the forwards Derdiyok and Feghouli are some of the examples of the individual quality that this team has.

Mitroglou

Mitroglou among the winter signings

The transfer market is Turkey, like in Portugal, closed on January 31.

The signing of Mitroglou (a player who represented Benfica in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season and scored 52 goals with an eagle on his chest), Mbaye Diagne (the top scorer of the Turkish league) and Marcão (former GD Chaves player) are the highlights.

What has been said about Benfica

The forward Sofiane Feghouli spoke about the upcoming clash. "I know that Benfica is a solid team. I had the chance of seeing them in action against Fenerbahçe. We know we have a difficult mission ahead of us, but we are going to do everything we can to qualify", claimed the Algerian in Turkey.
