Grimaldo, Benfica's left-back, was considered the Best Defender of February by the coaches of the Liga NOS, through a poll promoted by the Liga Portugal.

The 23-year-old Spaniard gathered 14,35 percent of the votes from the coaches of the Portuguese top-flight, finished ahead of his teammate Rúben Dias and Alex Telles, from FC Porto, the third most voted defender.

Grimaldo started the four Benfica matches in February [Sporting, Nacional, Desp. Aves and Chaves], always completing the 90 minutes. He also racked up one goal and one assist.

Under-23: images from the victory of the 1st Revelação Cup

Telma Monteiro's donation to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

An unforgettable Children's Day

This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights

In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.

With a 27-19, the Eagles won the 9th trophy of the women's handball Portuguese Cup in the Club's history.
