Seven Benfica players were starters in the triumph of Portugal U-19 over Cyprus (3-0) in a qualification match for the 2019 European Championship.

Celton Biai, Pedro Álvaro, Gonçalo Loureiro, Nuno Tavares, Diogo Capitão, Tiago Dantas and Gonçalo Ramos were the young eagles who featured in the Starting XI.

During the match, Umaro Embaló also gave his contribution to the U-19 national team coached by Filipe Ramos.

Preparing for a new clash

Benfica's professional football team began preparations for their clash with Auckland City on Friday, June 20, at 12 noon (5:00 pm continental time) at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, on matchday 2 of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup with a two 30-minute halves training match against FC Naples on Tuesday, June 17. The Eagles won 2-1, with goals from Gonçalo Oliveira and Belotti.
