Thursday evening marked by the 1st leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. In a vibrant Estádio da Luz, with 54 175 spectators in the stands, the men under Bruno Lage beat Eintracht Frankfurt by 4-2. The tie is moving in the right direction, “but only the 1st half is over”, explained Samaris, at the end of the match.
“It is always up to us. Only the first half is over, we will see the importance of this goal [the second of Eintracht] in the match in Germany. Regardless of a three or two-goal lead, we always have to take the second leg match seriously. Now we'll prepare the Championship and only after that we'll think about the second match in Germany”, analyzed the midfielder.
“It's everyone's dream to win a European title, but the priority is the championship. But if we are able to win in Europe, why not?”, questioned Samaris, full of ambition.
