The Benfica is the 40th most valuable in the world of football, according to the annual report of Brand Finance on the most valuable and strongest football brands.
Benfica is the only Portuguese club present in the list of the most valuable brands, returning to a ranking it was part of in 2017. This year, the clubs enters directly to the 40th place. In the ranking that measures the company value, the Club sits in the 26th place, ahead of FC Porto (40th).
Benfica is now in the list of 50 strongest football, led by Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich. In this table, Benfica entered directly to the 21st place, overcoming clubs such as Leicester City and Celtic.
The study, released this Thursday, elaborates three lists (most valuable brands, strongest brands and enterprise value) on the football brands, but only shows the values of the first ten clubs of each list.
Therefore, is possible to see that the most valuable football brands of the world are Real Madrid – with a value 1,65 billion euros –, Manchester United (1,47 billion euros) and FC Barcelona (1,39 billion euros). Rounding of the top 10 is Tottenham, evaluated in 758 million euros.
