Six young players from Benfica are among the 20 athletes called up by Rui Bento to represent the U-18 National Team in the 25th of the Lisbon International Tournament between June 9 and 13. Benfica is the most represented club.

Henrique Jocu, João Monteiro, Bernardo Silva, Francisco Saldanha, Jair Tavares and João Ferreira are the Benfica players called up to wear the Portuguese National Team in the competition in which Portugal will face Japan (June 9, 5:00 pm) and Norway (June 11, 6:00 pm), at the Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras.

The U-18 National Team preparatory work starts this Tuesday (3:30 pm).

Day 1 of a new journey

The 2025/26 preseason officially kicked off on Monday, July 14, with medical checks and physical tests between Hospital da Luz and Benfica Campus. In an atmosphere of reunions, renewed energy, and focus on what comes next, 28 players are present on this first day of work of Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
