The 2019/20 pre-season kicks off

Benfica kicks off 2019/20 this Monday (July 1). The pre-season starts with the usual medical exams and physical tests on a week that finishes with the Kick-Off from Liga Portugal.

At 8:45 am, at Seixal and at the Stadium, the first groups of players will start the medical check-ups and the physical tests. In the afternoon there is new round (as of 1:45 pm),
but with the groups exchanging: those who spend the morning at Seixal are evaluated in the afternoon at Luz and vice versa.

The players who were in the National teams will arrive later.

The training sessions at Seixal start on Wednesday, July 3, remembering that there will be an open training session on July 6, in the morning, at Caixa Futebol Campus

During the preparatory works for the new sports season, the team commanded by Bruno Lage plays two friendly matches in Portugal – Benfica-Anderlecht, July 10, at Luz (Presentation Match), and Académica-Benfica, July 13, in Coimbra – before the trip to the United States, to be in the International Champions Cup.

The 2019/20 season official launch is scheduled for August 4, the day when Benfica, current National Champion, and Sporting, the Portuguese Cup winner, meet at Estádio Algarve to play the first official trophie of the season: the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup.

At the end of the first working week, Benfica will know, on Friday (July 5), the alignment of Liga NOS matches and the League Cup’s first stages (Allianz Cup) at the 2019/20 Kick-Off of Liga Portugal. At this event there will be delivered the Official Awards of 2019 Liga Portugal. The event takes place at Palácio da Bolsa, in Oporto, at 9:00 pm.
