Alfa Semedo: “We are on the right track”

Benfica began the 2018 International Champions Cup with a win. at the Heinz Field Stadium, after a 2-all draw in the full time, a victory by 3-4 on penalties.

At the end of the match, the scorer of the equalizer spoke to the journalist and was pleased with a triumph that brings confidence and shows that the team is on the right path.

"We did a good match, against a very difficult team. We managed to play well, to impose our game philosophy and win in the penalty shootout. A victory is always good to win confidence. Now we have to keep working. It was another match to show that we are on the right track, doing what win want to do", started by saying Alfa Semedo.

Questioned about the importance of this match for the team’s preparation for the Fenerbahçe in the 3^rd qualifying round of the Champions League, the Reds’ number 16 explained that the group thinks step by step… and the next match is Saturday against Juventus.

"Now we are preparing the next encounter and thinking match by match. We have another very difficult test on Saturday, against Juventus. First, we will think about Juventus and afterward we will think about the Champions League, which is a very important match for us", he said.

And how is the adaptation going?

"They welcomed me very well and I am learning with my teammate. The gaffer requires from me what he requires from other players: hard work and to develop the game processes", finished Alfa Semedo.
