At 10’, Fejsa and André Almeida shared the credit in the ball recovery, that they passed Gedson. Close to the penalty area, the young midfielder made the cross, V. Guimarães' defense, pressured by Ferreyra, did not clear the danger and Pizzi was lethal, scoring with a left-footed shot (1-0).

The gap could have been extended shortly after: Salvio (14’) was fouled inside Vitória's penalty box, and a penalty was awarded for the reds. From the penalty spot, Ferreyra shot to the right, but Douglas flew and made the save (15’).

With security and appetite, Benfica reached the 2-0 at 30’: Salvio ran down the right, passed the ball to André Almeida; the right-back passed the ball back (assist) for the Pizzi's finish.

The 3-0 took eight minutes to arrive, again through Pizzi. Grimaldo took part in the attack through the left and made the cross; Ferreyra let the ball pass between his legs and Pizzi scored again, this time with his right foot (38’). Shortly after came the break.

Vitória never gave up, and, in five minutes, it managed to score two goals (3-1 by André André at 76’ and 3-2 by Celis at 81’) that narrowed the eagles' lead.

But the three points were secured and stayed at Luz in the first round of the Championship.

Next Tuesday, in Istanbul, the reds play the second leg of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, the third match in a week.
