Grimaldo: “We are ready to play and to go through to the next stage”

Grimaldo was the player chosen to preview the match from the second leg of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round. The left-back remembered that Benfica is in the lead and will do everything to secure a presence in the play-off.

“We start the match with an advantage, which is important. It is a different stadium, but the team has already played at important stadiums, has put in a good performance and is ready to win tomorrow [Tuesday]”, he assured.

At Luz, Fenerbahçe had a defensive approach, trying to break on the counter-attack. The Spaniard expects difficulties at Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium but believes in the qualification.

“They have a very good squad. Any player can create problems, but we are ready to play, put in a performance similar to the one we put in at Estádio da Luz and go through to the next stage ”, he stressed.

The path in the last edition of the Champions League is already forgotten. The players now want to write a new story.

“The demand is the same. It's a new season, let's leave the past behind and think about the present. It is, by the way, what we are doing”, he said.

The Fenerbahçe-Benfica is scheduled for 9 pm (7 pm in mainland Portugal ) this Tuesday, at the Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium.
