Welcome, Corchia!

Sébastien Corchia, right-back who played for Seville in the last season, is the Benfica’s new signing for the 2018/19 season.

"The stadium is magnificent, impressive, superb!", said the 27-year old when entered the cathedral. “I am very happy and I will give my best to do things well at this club. I am proud to wear this jersey", said Corchia.

When he was told about the possibility to join Benfica, Corchia did not think twice: "yes" was the answer. "I told my agent I was very into come to Benfica, because it is the biggest Club in Portugal, a huge emblem, with all the conditions. Has an enormous stadium, magnificent supporters and is a winning Club. It is important to win titles. It is a pleasure and a pride to be able to defend these colors", confessed Corchia, delighted with the new reality.

At the beginning of a new stage, the goals are already defined: "I want to play as much as possible, to give my best in order to help team winning titles this season. I am 100% ready for Benfica ", said the player.

"I know that the club is used to win titles and I want to win with this jersey. I am one more to help", added the right-back who, in France, played for Le Mans, Sochaux and Lille, where was a teammate of Rony Lopes during three seasons, a talent trained at Caixa Futebol Campus.

Corchia has completed his first training session with the squad this Sunday morning. The defender was welcomed by the captain Luisão at Caixa Futebol Campus.
