Gedson extends contract

Bet of the coach Rui Vitória in his debut in the first team, Gedson has extended contract with the Club until 2023. 

"It is a unique feeling, I’m at one of the best clubs in the world, this is my home. All that I am I have learned here. I will not forget this moment", said Gedson.

Promoted in 2018/19 to the first team, Gedson, a talent 100% Made in Caixa Futebol Campus, confirmed and justified the bet of  Rui Vitória right in the preseason...

"The coach has been giving me a message of trust, he wants me to be a great athlete just like all the other athletes. He has been supporting me, giving some tips during the matches and training sessions. He helps me a lot", confessed Gedson.

At the highest level, the official debut with the Sacred Mantle took place on August 7, home, against Fenerbahçe in the first leg of the Champions League qualifier.

"It was a unique match, a dream. When I entered the field I almost had a blackout. I had to focus on my work and forget the rest, to concentrate only in my task", remembered the young eagle.

Being a starter in the first seven matches in 2018/19, Gedson counts already with 621 minutes and a goal in his curriculum. The first goal occurred in Istanbul, against Fenerbahçe, in the second leg of the CL qualifier.
