In the return to competition after the international, Rafa scored the second goal from Benfica in the triumph over Rio Ave, in the 2018/19 League Cup debut.

"What matters to us are the victories. Of course that it is always good to score, but what counts is our objective and we managed to achieve it in this encounter", commented Rafa.

"We knew that it would be a difficult match, that Rio Ave would bring us problems, but we knew how to circumvent them and to score goals", analyzed the Portuguese international, who now, together with his teammates, will channel energies for the Wednesday match (8 pm) against Bayern Munich, at the Cathedral, for gameweek 1 of the Champions League group stage.

"We look at every match to win and we only think about the match that is ahead of us. We achieved our goal in the match against Rio Ave and know we can think about Bayern and also in the victory", assumed Rafa.
