Liga NOS: Chaves' X-ray

SL Benfica will face a GD Chaves team that is giving clear signs of improvement in terms of results on Thursday, at 8:15 pm, at the Estádio Municipal Eng.º Manuel Branco Teixeira, in a game from matchweek 6 of the Liga NOS.

After the 6th place in 2017/18, the season did not start well for GD Chaves, with a heavy defeat at the Dragão (5-0) in the opening round of the Liga NOS. In the following round, a 2-0 win over Portimonense.

In matchday 3 a trip to Madeira, with Marítimo winning by 2-1; the return home and a new defeat, 0-1 against SC Braga.

Then, a new trip to the  Dragão and, an upset in the League Cup, with the "minhotos" clinching a 1-all draw against Porto.  The last round brought an important triumph for CD Chaves. A 1-2 win over Boavista… and a leap in the League table.

Overall, everything still to play for in the League Cup (Group C) and, in the National Championship, the team rose to the 10th place, racking up six points, the fruit of two victories and three losses, with five goals scored and nine conceded.

In these five round of the Liga NOS, CD Chaves has been varying between the 4x4x2 and the 4x2x3x1.

In the last starting XI, at Bessa, Daniel Ramos fielded four new signings: Ricardo Nunes; Paulinho, Nikola Maras, Marcão, Djavan, Bruno Gallo, Gevorg Ghazaryan, Stephen Eustáquio, Niltinho, Perdigão and William.

Looking at the stats from the platform Wyscout, GD Chaves has an average of only 10 shots per match (26%) and it has a ball possession average of 46,25 %. These numbers are reflected in the number of passes: an average of 333,4 per match, with an 81% accuracy.
