Gedson and Jota have already received the Best Young Player Awards

Gedson Fernandes and João Filipe, better known as Jota, received the awards of Best Young Players in the month of August in the Liga NOS and Ledman LigaPro, respectively.

The Eagles' midfielder was the most voted player, with 21,36% of the choices, leaving André Pereira (11,11%) and Chiquinho (10,59%) behind.

In the month in which he made his official debut for the Club's first team, the 19-year-old player featured in seven matches and scored a goal against Fenerbahçe. Gedson's good performances at Benfica have earned him the call-up to the National Team, where he made his debut at Estádio Algarve, against Croatia.

In the II Division, Jota had 15,88% of the votes, beating Guilherme Barros, from Mafra, with 14,49% and Miguel Crespo, from SC Braga B, with 11,31%.

The winger from Benfica B made three matches in the Ledman LigaPro and helped the team with two goals and one assist.

João Filipe made his debut for the first team on October 18, at Estádio Cidade de Coimbra against Sertanense. He played 13’ in the triumph by 0-3, in the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup.
