Cervi: “We will fight until the end to remain in the Champions League”

Benfica's Argentinean winger assured that the team is united and will give everything in the two matches there are left in the group stage of the Champions League.

At the end of the game from matchday 4 of Group E of the Champions League against Ajax (1-1), Cervi assumed that the team lacked composure when shooting at goal and considered that the three points would be fairer for the Eagles.

“I think we lacked composure in the plays definition in the last moment. We could have won the match, but there are days in which the ball does not want to go in. We are sad for not getting the victory”, he stated.

Despite the fact the team is in a four-match winless streak, the number 11 left a promise: “We will continue working. We have a great group, with great players and the good results will appear. The team gave its best.”

With four points in the group standings, Benfica knows it needs to win in the next two matches to dream with the eighth-finals of the Champions League.

“If there is a chance of remaining in the Champions League, we will focus on that and that what we will fight for. We are together and we will carry on”, he assured.
