Four wins in the four games played in October have earned Arturo Álvarez, the coach of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the award of best coach of the Portuguese Basketball League.

The brilliant start from Benfica – has eight wins in eight games – started in the month of October with away wins at Esgueira and at V. Guimarães, and at home, against Terceira Basket and Lusitânia.

All set!

On Tuesday, August 5, Benfica finalized preparations for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Nice. In the morning, the team held a training session at Benfica Campus, which also hosted the preview press conferences with Bruno Lage and Schjelderup.  After that, they headed to Beja, where they got a warm welcome from hundreds of Benfica fans before hopping on a charter flight. Benfica is already in France (they landed tonight) in Nice, where the game is set for 8:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on Wednesday, August 6.
