To the rhythm of the homegrown talent

Benfica started the match with six Portuguese players, five of which homegrown talents. Alfa Semedo delivered the assist for the first goal, João Félix scored the 2-0 against Paços de Ferreira, and the reds are one point away from the final four of the League Cup.

A solid and quality performance led Benfica to an unquestionable win over Paços de Ferreira (2-0) in Matchday 2 from Group A of the League Cup. The Reds play the third and final round against Aves on December 28 and are just one point away from qualifying for the final four of the League Cup.

[Goal: 1-0] On the right side, Alfa Semedo made a combination with André Almeida and then delivered a cross for Seferovic to score inside the goal area (11’).

[Goal: 2-0] Before the break, at 45’, the eagles built up another nice play on the left side of the attack, with Yuri Ribeiro, João Félix and Zivkovic drawing it up, Paços' defense manage to withstand the first advance but was unable to stop the powerful shot from João Félix.

Bossy and determined, Benfica started the second half hitting the woodwork: Seferovic, from the edge of the box, delivered a right-footed shot that hit the right post. It would be a screamer!
