Chiquinho was one of the new faces for 2019/20 who presented himself to the Members and supporters of Benfica this Wednesday. The 23-year-old midfielder, who scored the goal from the Reds, devalued the defeat against (1-2), ensuring that Bruno Lage's ideas are being assimilated.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult match because we only have carried out one week of pre-season. We are assimilating the gaffer ideas, but I think it was a good pre-season match. A tough, intense game, but I think the ideas are there”, he explained at the end of the encounter, in statements to BTV.

“It's always important to score, but the most important thing is the team. I'm here, I'm another one to help the team, that's my focus. Work every day to be better and help the team in whatever way I can”, he assured.
