Fernando Drasler da Cunha, 31-year-old defender (20-06-1988), has signed contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica to join the futsal team.

The Brazilian comes from ElPozo Murcia, club where he played in the last two seasons. During his entire career also played for: Magnus Futsal (where he was a champion in 2014/2015), Sala 10 Zaragoza, Nacional Zagreb and Joinville (national champion in 2016/2017).

Now at Luz, Fernando Drasler does not hide the excitement...

“I’m very happy to wear this jersey, I hope to do a good job and also to win trophies”, said the new futsal signing to BTV.

“I used to follow the Portuguese league, I have friends playing here, I talked to them, I also talked to Gonçalo Alves who gave me a lot of confidence and that’s why I decided to join Benfica”, he added.

Preparing for a new clash

Benfica's professional football team began preparations for their clash with Auckland City on Friday, June 20, at 12 noon (5:00 pm continental time) at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, on matchday 2 of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup with a two 30-minute halves training match against FC Naples on Tuesday, June 17. The Eagles won 2-1, with goals from Gonçalo Oliveira and Belotti.
