A totally different experience for Rui Costa and Luisão. The two former players and captains of Benfica visited the Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, before the baseball game against New York Mets on Thursday.

In a dynamic that aimed to convey mystique and friendship, the Clube da Luz offered jerseys to the player Pablo Sandoval, the legend of the Giants Hensley Meulens and the coach Bruce Bochy.

Pablo Sandoval spoke with the Official Website and with BTV after receiving the Sacred Mantle.

It's amazing to be here with Rui Costa and Luisão, true Benfica legends. Thank you for the jersey. It's beautiful and it's a pride to receive it”, he admitted.

“Fantastic experience. Magnificent the way they welcomed us”

The two former eagle footballers watched the game at Oracle Park and in the end, they talked to the media.

“It was a fantastic experience. This is a sport we know little about and to be able to interact with great stars of the sports, to have been welcomed by the San Francisco Giants the way we were, was magnificent”, he stressed.

Just before playing Chivas in the first match of this edition of the 2019 International Champions Cup, the former jersey 10 highlighted the importance of the Club's presence in prestigious tournaments.

“It's very important. It's the third time that Benfica plays in the International Champions Cup in four years. To play this type of competition isimportant for the brand, but also for the team, because it's an elite tournament”, he remembered.

“Benfica must be involved with major brands”

Luisão highlighted the fact that Benfica works to always be together with the strongest brands.

Benfica must be involved with major brands. Benfica's greatness allows us to explore thousands of paths, and Today [Thursday] we were able to interact and have a different experience. It's very important”, he claimed.
