On the fourth day of work in California (EUA), where Benfica prepares the participation in the International Champions Cup, Florentino assured that the group is "absorbing the ideas" from Bruno Lage.

How is our first pre-season with the first team going?

It's being very good for assimilating processes. The new players are fitting in well, and I think we're absorbing the ideas from the gaffer, which is the most important thing.

How is the group in the start of the new season?

The group is confident and aware that it has a lot of quality. Each player will give his best to win his spot.

How will be Saturday’s match against Chivas?

We expect an opponent with huge quality, as all the others we are going to face in this tournament. We’ll give our best and impose our game to prepare ourselves for what’s coming.

You were one of the starters in the last months of the last season. Do you feel that you have a secured place in the starting XI?

I don’t feel I have a secured place. I must look at it from the bright side because my teammates have a lot of quality. I’ll have to give my best, otherwise it will be harder to play, but then it’s up to the gaffer to choose the best option.

How does it feel like to be some many kilometers away from Portugal and to have so many Portuguese people on a weekday watching?

This only shows the Club’s greatness. There are Benfiquistas everywhere and we are pleased to know that we have support wherever we go.

Do you want to leave an appeal for the supporters for Saturday’s match against Chivas?

We expect to have Benfiquistas at Estádio. The more the better. We are going to honor the crest we carry on our chest.
