🎥 Grimaldo: “We're building a great group and team”

Alejandro Grimaldo was the player chosen by Benfica to speak at the end of Monday's training session.

The left-back recalled that at this point the important thing is to improve the physical fitness and improve the quality of the team's football.

What are the expectations for the match against Fiorentina?

I believe that it’s important to continue this line of work, improve physical fitness, integrate the new players. We’re building a great group and a great team. The result is not the most important thing, although we always want to win. The important thing is to improve the quality of our game and the physical form.

And what perspectives for this season?

We must keep working to make a good group and then try to win the National Championship, which is Benfica's main objective every season, and go far in European competitions.

Looking at the preseasons, do you think that Benfica is stronger than Sporting?

I don’t know. Actually, I didn't see any match from Sporting. We are focused on ourselves, we work thinking about our team and our style of play. I think that the important thing is to improve every day.

The fans supported the team in California and now in New York, as you saw in the adidas store. How do the players react to that?

We know Benfica's greatness, and everywhere we go there are Benfiquistas. That's incredible and it's something I've realized since I arrived at the Club.

As a Spaniard does it surprises you what Raul de Tomas has been doing?

I'm not surprised. I've seen him play and I've played against him. He's a great player. We must expect him to do big things, but first, we have to wait calmly for him to adapt in the best possible way.
