Rafa: "We got what we wanted"

Rafa was elected the man of the match in the game from round 2 of the Liga NOS between Benfica and Belenenses SAD.

The eagles won by 0-2 at Jamor and the number 27 emphasized that the collective has achieved what it intended: the triumph and the three points!

He scored his first goal in the current edition of the Championship and provided an assist for Pizzi's goal.

"We work as a team, here the individual never counts. We already knew it was going to be a tough match and that we were going to face a very tough opponent, but, as a team, we got what we wanted, which was to clinch the victory", he highlighted.

The "partnership" Rafa-Pizzi continues to pay off, the players understand each other on the pitch and that harmony was evident throughout the game.

"I've known Pizzi for a long time, we've been playing together for a couple of years and it always helps that there's this connection between the two, but before Rafa and Pizzi there's a team behind, which is the most important thing", he stressed.

On the challenges ahead [the eagles host FC Porto in round 3 and visit SC Braga on round 4], the red athlete said that every opponent wants to beat Benfica.

"For us, every game is difficult, we know that every opponent wants to beat us and they want to make things difficult for us, but we're here to overcome those difficulties", he said.
