Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Vitória de Guimarães played matchday 1 of the League Cup Group B this Wednesday night. An intense match at Estádio da Luz that finished with a 1-all draw. Gabriel returned after two months sidelined, analyzed the match and set priorities.

“Vitória de Guimarães arrived well, they demanded a lot from us, but I think we can improve, as always. The result is open and we are still in the competition. We had a hard time keeping the ball and being more effective. Other than that, we just have to adjust the details and continue the work we've been doing”, analyzed the midfielder.

Gabriel returned to the pitches this evening, after recovering from an injury sustained in the Super Cup match, played in early August. In the 65th minute at Estádio da Luz, Samaris was replaced by the Brazilian.

“I felt good. Coming back is always a difficult time, but it's good to get back to the game feeling and rack up minutes. The important thing is for Benfica to be okay”, he finished.
