Bruno Lage: “Extremely prepared to have a strong return to competition”

Bruno Lage made the preview of the match from the 3^rd round of the Portuguese Cup against Cova da Piedade, on Friday at 8:30 pm.

This will be the fifth competition in which Benfica plays in the current season. What do you want for the Portuguese Cup?

We want to win the match and go through to the next round. We look at all the competitions this way. The most important thing is to return at a very high level, as we did at the start of the season. hen, play one game at a time, be aware of the difficulties and the opportunities that the opponent can give us.

There was an international break. What was it like to prepare this game and the training sessions with the smaller group?

It was fundamental for two reasons. Firstly: time to recover injured players, to give days of rest to those who are always in competition and do not go to the national team, as for example Grimaldo. Secondly: to have the opportunity to train the details of the game which, when we are playing every three days, is not possible. We're extremely prepared to have a strong return to competition.
