Tomás Tavares was a starter against in the home match against Lyon (2-1), in Round 3 of the Champions League.  

“We had a great reaction to their goal and went after the 2-1. It’s a meritorious win. These three points are very important to gain some confidence”, declared the young player.

“We think one game at a time and we won this one. We have great aspirations in this competition”, he concluded.

Preparing for a new clash

Under-17: celebrating the third consecutive championship title

Benfica's Under-17s beat FC Porto on Sunday, June 15, on matchday 18 of the National Championship and won the 3rd consecutive league title in the competition and the 22nd in the club's history. At Benfica Campus Field No. 1, Tomás Soares (45'+1') and José Neto (54') scored the goals that gave the Eagles a 2-1 victory. For the first time in the same season, the Under-19, Under-17, and Under-15 teams have won their respective championships: it is a historic achievement for the Club in youth football!
