Benfica will launch "Benfica Play" next December, a service that will be "a kind of Netflix", with behind-the-scenes content. The announcement was made by Domingos Soares de Oliveira on the third day of the Web Summit, which runs until November 7, in Lisbon.
“We have supporters who react emotionally to the Club according to the results of the team and the coaches who are chosen. The most challenging part of leading a club is to engage with the supporters, not only to be in contact, but to give information targeted to each one of the supporters. To improve this topic, we are launching new ways of talking to supporters. We will launch in December a platform that will be called Benfica Play, a kind of Netflix with content from Benfica. Behind the scenes content, dressing rooms content, training sessions content... We want to generate interesting - paid - content so that fans can monitor what they want to see”, said Domingos Soares de Oliveira in the lecture on "Leadership in a disruptive environment".
The executive director of the Benfica SAD further listed what distinguishes a good leader, especially in times of disruption. “There are many things in leadership that do not change over the years, despite the development of the times. A good leader needs to have commitment to the brand, employers, etc. We need some skills that weren't needed before. It is important to understand everything that goes on in the various areas of the business and we also have to be very quick not to fall behind in the market”, he highlighted.
