He scored Benfica's second goal in Setúbal and also his second goal 2019/20, again for the League Cup. A draw against V. Setúbal (2-2) which, Jota confesses, leaves a "bitter taste" to the Reds who bid farewell to the competition this Saturday.
“We knew we weren't just depending on ourselves, we knew that the other game [V. Guimarães-SC Covilhã] had to be beneficial, but we didn't focus on that. We focused on what we had to do and tried to play our game. At the end, they scored the second goal.Unfortunately, we could not win. Now is the time to rest and prepare for the next year”, claimed the 20-year-old forward.
“Benfica plays to win every competition and there's always a bitter taste when we leave a competition because we work to win everything. Unfortunately we're out, but we're still in other competitions and we'll do our best to win them”, he assured.
