The women's football team of SL Benfica carried out, this Tuesday, at Tapadinha, a training match against Heerenveen, currently in fourth place in the Dutch League. Darlene scored the winning goal (1-0). Sunday, there will be a derby!

Next Sunday, January 12, Benfica's women's football team will play the first match of the Women's League Cup.

The match is scheduled for 3:15 pm, at the Estádio da Tapadinha, and it will be against Sporting, currently in second place in the Liga BPI, three points behind SL Benfica.

The President of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Luís Filipe Vieira, and the coach of the men's football team, Jorge Jesus, were present in the women's football training session before the match against Chelsea, in the last 32 of the Champions League, and showed their support to the team coached by Luís Andrade. The Club's chairman spoke about " unprecedented fact" and left a guarantee: "If you have the same determination, will and drive, surely you can make more surprises." The coach praised what Benfica has done to promote women's football: "They are taking important steps to value women's football.
