The new number of consecutive away wins in the Championship is a feat in the history of the competition!
21 January 2020, 18h03
The 17 triumphs as visitors in the Championship are a record in Portugal. The record began on January 11, 2019, the date in which Benfica traveled to the Azores to beat Santa Clara (0-2). Since then it has been over a year and Benfica clinched all three points in all the encounters held away from home in the Championship.
The previous records (16 wins) belonged to ... Benfica! In 2015/16 (the season of the third league title in a row), the first season of Rui Vitória as Benfica’s head coach, the eagles began a record of 16 triumphs in a row, which ended in the 2016/17 season (fourth league title in a row).

Pizzi and Grimaldo represent 51,6% of the assists provided in the 17 consecutive away triumphs in the League.
