– Our player Gabriel presented the first sight-related complaints the day after Benfica-Famalicão match, at Estádio da Luz, for the Portuguese Cup.
– It was decided to do all the exams and tests recommended according to the clinical picture presented by the player and more serious scenarios are now excluded.
– Thus, Gabriel has left VI nerve palsy, with limited abduction, which conditions diplopia.
– This makes it impossible to determine a deadline for a return to full fitness as a top-level footballer.
– Remembering, however, that the most important thing is to ensure that there are no other risks and that normal day-to-day activity is not at stake.
– Gabriel will continue to present himself daily at Benfica Campus, to do the physical work that is deemed appropriate.
